Nigerian Army warns public about fake 90th recruitment notice
Nigerian Army has warned members of the public to disregard a publication circulating on social media claiming that applications have opened for the 90th Regular Recruitment Intake.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations at the Directorate of Recruitment, Captain Abubakar Umar Hammanga, described the report as “fake and misleading.”
“The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a fake publication circulating on social media and other online platforms, falsely claiming that the application for 90 Regular Recruitment Intake has commenced,” Hammanga said. “The publication is false, misleading and should be disregarded in its entirety.”
The Army stressed that it follows an established procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and would only release authentic information through its verified official platforms.
“The Nigerian Army will duly inform the public through its official channels once the portal for 90 Regular Recruitment Intake is formally opened,” the statement continued. “We remain committed to transparency and professionalism in all recruitment processes and strongly caution the public against falling prey to fraudsters.”
The Army urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid sharing or responding to unofficial recruitment claims.
